18 the amorous advance

18 the amorous advance

I came of disco age 18
Hot pursuit they let me in
And I died in heaven
And dry ice dreams
Oh yes I dreamt of such things
the Lycra Linda handbag queens
They are fantastic
Disco nights, Stretch fabric
a can can crescent female friends dance
And in a snaking randomness
White shirt and pants
The boys tie
The occidental knot
Brushing bosom dress
The men attempt to possess
girlie girl temptress things
fighting
18 come of age
Notice me
This chaotic but exciting sea
Of dancing people
drowning disco
Happy!
liquor frees fluid moves
Dormant in a working week
Come the end exploding feet
beauty makes the strong man
Creep, and there he goes
Weak, at the knees again
but
urgency, the last moments 1.48
a last dance celebration
a snogging embrace
of clumsy swaying forms
the aftermath of a disco storm
sprawled on deep velvet torn
mocha foam spilled
the successful, drilled holes
in chewing gum corners
the carpet held alcohol
sticky, long gone the hair set aerosol
of the sculptured
sliding handbag mascara masses
who share the same classes
in tongue swapping embrace
in love bite rubbing toothpaste
lessons
they never notice me
but oh my goddess!
there she is my simple kiss
Hidden in a stroboscopic cigarette cloud
Drawing breath on silk cut shroud
propped behind a cancer stick
There grasps 2 painted tips
a vice
dying under disco lights
the mirror ball
a sweeping arc
a hostile glare, trick of the dark
wing and prayer
I find myself sitting there
With discomfort
the learning curve
fumbling, my last reserve
tumbling at the dial of vocal chords
a delivery delirious
she said nothing half turned
And with glazed eyes
A wandering mouth
kissed

I really like this poem sweet, it's very sensual but subtle also but there is a sickness in it, which is perhaps in the boy or the girl or both or maybe us all - the imagery is tangible!
