A process to create a poem
I recently put the following poem on the poetry blogs:
https://www.writeoutloud.net/public/blogentry.php?blogentryid=131021
What I thought might be helpful is to explain how I wrote it.
It was written after reading ‘The Art of Falling’ by Kim Moore. She used the word 'falling' to good effect by exploring it’s many meanings.
I then took another adjective ‘easy’ as my starting point. It had been in my head for days anyway as a rant about online recipe sites always insisting their recipes are easy, simple and quick.
I then explored the use of the word and similar by writing down phrases used for online recipes e.g. BBC Good Food.
What's hard to counterpoint? NHS waiting lists and the recent reset of waiting targets seemed like a good challenge.
Therefore, I compared easy online recipes to the resetting of NHS targets through the use of the phrases I had found to arrive at the above piece.
I hope it pokes at the idea that resetting targets will make the job easier.
Intrigued to see if anyone else has used a process like this, or if this is indeed any help to anyone else.

Thanks for offering up this explanation and insight into your poem, John. A good idea that will hopefully attract attention and draw comments.
