above is a link to a film I made in Billinge maternity hospital.
Not poetry however my 2006 collection of poetry includes 2 or 3 poems inspired by the film footage.
A weak tie in and shameless self promotion

Hi Sophie,
The idea behind the film was to create a base from which to draw poetic ideas. It was to take documentary footage (a video log) and look at segments and how they change when music is overlayed. The idea came about whilst I was listening to some music by the (early) Human League. I stress EARLY league.(with Ian Craig Marsh)
I noticed that one song (MORALE) spoke of cold and decaying rooms. I had this footage lying about and just wanted to make a poetic cocktail of ideas and sounds.
I would edit the film down to half, using only the MORALE part of the song. The 'loving feeling' part was simple experiment (it happens to mix on the album from the MORALE track)
My intention to make it available was to illustrate the inside of the hospital, how quick it decayed, and to add haunting music to it .
A lot of my poems are made this way but I very rarely publish the films used as they are just the cogs in the wheel. However I hgave recently become interested in making short finished films, I may well include the hospital one in this to use as backdrops whilst reading .
I may try muting the sound and voice dubbing a poem on top.
My latest poem 'fear' uses overdub and part of my show now includes a PA system with overdub (only on certain parts)
I will always keep focused on the core poems and the actual rant.
I have zero qualifications in film. I do have a technical mind and Im confident I could learn basic edit techniques if shown.
