Crompton at the Dead Goods
We are accustomed to Pete giving a toure de force, but he really excelled himself at the DGPS in Liverpool tonight. Despite claiming a cold and fragile voice Peter delivered two long sets of passionate, powerful poetry to an appreciative audience at the Everyman Bistro. He is quite a phenomenon and I really don't know of any other performance poet in the region doing such good work with the enthusiasm and power that he produces. Well done Pete.
There was an open mic afterwards with the theme of love poems which the performers interpreted loosely. As if he hadn't already done enough, Peter awarded prizes to all performers with a professionalism that matched his poetry sets.
An enjoyable evening.
