Dawning

Enveloped by warmth,
Held lovingly by
Sheets crisp.

Existence is nothing
Sensual is all

Unaware of the heartbeat in my ears

Light beams disturb,
Yet tepidly stroke
Snug soma
Exposed.

Unbornly lying
Unaware of ticking clock.

Timeless time passes unnoticed
Until my time
Arrives.
Ten more cozy minutes
Won’t take that away
In spite of my thoughtless hopes.

With newborn puppy eyes I arrive,
As if for the first time.

The sting
From womb to world
Encourages my retreat back
To crisp sheet.

Another dawning.
I tardily turn
To leave sheets crisp
Behind.

This poem gave strong imagery from the first line. Instantly relatable with a strong thread,
