Does Punctuation Matter?
I have recently returned to WoL and have started reading some of the work being produced by poets I haven't seen before. What is immediately apparent is the number of pieces with no punctuation at all, which in my mind makes them more difficult to read and interpret the writer's intent. I probably am a bit of a pedant, but surely some people might see my point? Editing your work is also a bugbear of mine. Any thoughts?

I’m afraid I’m a bit of a Puritan in that regard, Robert. I soon give up reading.

Yes, it matters - as the above comment shows - but here I have to admit that the rules of punctuation are a mystery to me so I usually ask my best friend Grammarly to help.
Unfortunately, Grammarly is not very good with poetry so then I make it up as I go along making it even more difficult for readers.
It says a lot for the patient tolerance of WOLers. that I do not get 'pulled up' over my failings. Thank you WOLers.

Thank you very much John and Flyntland. Your opinions matter and not just because they mirror my own.
On thinking about this matter further, lack of punctuation might indicate a rebellion of some sort (in the right context), but I tend to conclude that most times its down to laziness, illiteracy or English not being the writer's first language.
