Guitars and Verse, May 2011
after a quieter than normal april, may's guitar and verse at Butterflies
Bar, Bolton was a much busier affair with a much larger crowd and excellent headline slots from john darwin and linda jennings.
open mike was also busy with 16 open mikers supporting including
myself solo from 'a means to an end' for once, all three of the nearly dead poets society (deslexic, alvin sawdust and mike swinton), alan gray
rachel bond, rob goodier and antoinionioni among others with new names coming in I myself hadn't seen before called John Robertson, a pianoist, Eddy, a punk haired keyboardist and from Oldham, a very slick duo called The Distance
who sang a few wonderful cover versions which was then finished off by
the mighty swab.
It was a very varied night but great fun.
Hope to see some of you in June.
