just a fun one to work on - ant powder

Black ants

We just wanted to build a nest
To pass the test of survival
To stash the eggs neath bathroom tile
Our arrival
Was secret and under darkness
Yet waiting sniffing
For your discarded lumps
And clumps of food
We are here
We are queenies best -the soldier ants
And yet you step
And crush
Oblivious
To our function
On sugar munchin marching mandibles
You psycho villes who enjoyed this animated carnage
The chemical sprinkle
Anticide
Pesticide
Spray and boil
Aspheticlly spoiled we did this
Please
Look I can carry 100-times my own weight
And when comrade, when mate
Dies
I carry him
So for this I expect retribution
I expect compassion
I don’t expect the stamping foor fashion
You follow
My footsteps are more than quadraic
And I am dictated to by evolution
Am I pre programmed for invisible soulful feeling
Yet your bhuda teaches you
Do not stick us with your paper glue
Or burn and boil the ant farm encaserate zoo
And ant farms
Accetable for entertainment
But a coloumn invasion of the biscuit cupboard
All of a sudden should petrify
Yes we hear the housewife cries
And yes we see comrades lie
Under the powder
yes
Can you see me under microscope
I’m massive
And integrate
You are blind
Your kind is blind
Human kind is blind
To plight and cause
To function
To mandible jaws
No not again the powder
Ant powder
Say it louder ant powder
Say it sugar lump
Say it you sugar lump
I mopped up your spills
You fools
Your spills and breadcrumbs
You the callous and un caring
You the unsparing of this colony
In the cavity
Sunshine warmed our eggs
I hid them
But nature made them free
And they were born
Yet another army
Stronger this time
Pesticide resilient

I really like this one, animal rights at grass roots level!
Great work!

I love ant powder Peter I know you meant it as a humorous piece but I think it's beautiful.
Very witty comment Cayn, boom boom.

Ants -- amazing things -- really like the staccato rhythm and the way the anger and argument are paced and placed. There's a feeling of switching back and forth from human perception (or lack of it) to ant group mind -- a contrast I think you could use even more because it's fascinating, really powers the piece along. I also like the fact you mention how ant farms ar tolerated -- but freedom within species that encroach on the human environment? Most definitely not! Kerpow!
