My very expensive wedding

My very expensive wedding

Im gonna spend 7 and a half grand on my wedding
that’ll make the marriage work
And that’s how I define value
The ridiculous cost of a wedding.
The size of the wedding tent
The ridiculous rent
Of a million wedding dresses.
The crazy way we try to impress
The sandwich toaster guests
That line the silk sheets of this
Funny shaped marquee
Unique my marquee
Unique my underwater wedding
Unique the money im shedding out
Unique my sky dive embrace
With the vicar in a parachute
Reading vows at mach 5
Whilst we dive
Headlong into the cloudbase
And the look on your face
It’s not about love
It’s about the cost of the wedding
And as though money makes it alright
Spend more and last longer
Succumb, fold
Warm your cold hands
On honeymoon gold sands
Like the pictures in the wedding brochure
the magazines on weddings
the magazines for shotguns
spend a million
But this fiscal pressure is crushing
The church hall
bursting
seams ,held with overdrafts
Where once lay simple crafts
Of love and romance
Something natural and real
Not top tails and wedding pants
Not marquee madness and exotic plants
Planted by the wedding designer
The wedding designer
Designer vagina
They polish and the shine her
In her wedding dress
Mother the urge to impress
Long gone fingers of daddys caress
The skin is shedding
Yes the cost of the wedding
Envious faces Redding
At the cost
20 pound notes
the presents and jokes
I haven’t seen you for years
I haven’t seen you for years
pure white lace
Nice dress
Sixty tier cake
A whole lake full
Of champagne
And a sea of people
Wishing us all the best
As we invest in each others houses
the jones got married
And I got carried away
Keeping up with them
I can feel it goin wrong, already
My wallet does not want you
But I do.

very witty end Peter, interesting and very true perspective on weddings - sadly.
