Open Mic - Southport

Having only joined the other week, I was surprised to find an event in my area - and even more surprised to find that it is actually taking place Thursday 21st (which I won't be able to attend) and also Thursday 18th Feb (which I likely will). I'm hoping to attend either to soak up the talent or to break some of my newer stuff out - either way, is it fairly well-populated?

I believe newcomers are welcome, which is always good.

Hi SJ,
i don't know anything about the Southport event as i've never been but if you leave a message on Pete Cromptons profile page, he might be able to help you there. He lives in Southport too and attends loads of events in various areas.

If you do make it to one, hope you enjoy.

Cheers Janet - being stuck without a car at present it's the only one I can make it to bar Wigan and I'd hope to be able to find the courage to perform some of my own stuff, but of course watching others is the key!

Only just seen this so apologies if I'm announcing the relief of Mafeking.
As I was working over there last year I went to Southport about Nov/Dec.
It was cancelled - nay, abandoned.
It should have been in a theatre (name escapes me) but I was told it had folded.
I don't know if it's reincarnated somewhere else, but it was the 3rd cancellation (or unchanged billing) I'd encountered in the space of a fortnight.
It's still shown on WOL.
