Riders on the storm - 4th May 2007
Chock full of class.
This was an eclectic platter of talent.
Hosted this time by a dickie-bowed Dave Morgan the Riders were out in force.
Forgive me for not knowing all the performers names , however may each and everyone of them this evening deserves a big applause.
A confident and relaxed Scott Devon gave us his staccato break beat word mincing magic.
Albaster performed his excellent, vivid dipiction of the river Irk. (becoming a popular classic in his set) - I thought this was the best I had seen Alabaster de Plume, the poem was smooth , strong narrative, read punchy and excellent. I could see the river and the Hobo's. Well done.
REEFER MADNESS - superb ! I loved Nat Clare's singing too.
the man I call the Hartnell played a fantastic jazz esque guitar piece, brilliant ! well done James, thoroughly enjoyed listening to that music you played.
Gordon Zola gives a welcome break from the intensity and takes us on a classical journey of Vivaldi shopping in Aldi, light, bright, fun, confident, happy . I really like Gordon he does not take it serious and he is always smiling and happy and i find that rubs off and he is very cheery and polite, his work is cleverly crafted and fun. His props are great and really enhance the show.
Some superb guitarists
Paul Blackburn adds the cheeky element to the night, this court jester is just missing a hat and bells, his gremlin-esque antics leave you wondering what trickery he plans next, what anecdote may he utter, what frivolities flutter from the man's lips .....Go Paul! Go the King!
A quite and reserved Julian Jordon took down notes................
The Audience was super and they all seemed to be having fun, the night gelled really well and the atmosphere steadily built throughout the night, the room had a certain vibe, something special. there was something in the air that night.
CAN SOMEONE FILL IN ON THE OTHER PERFORMERS PLEASE. The guest Guitarist was so tranquil, I would like a cd of her stuff.
