Slam Poems
Well it's quick way to being a shite poet I suppose.

A slam poet is – as far as I'm concerned – simply a poet who takes part in slams. It doesn't have to be their *only* poetry activity, or even their *major* poetry activity, just something they do.
Slams aren't everyone's cup of tea, and there's no reason that they should be, but there's also a fair number of misconceptions (and no small amount of marketing spin) about them. Just like open-mic nights, there'll very likely be a range of poems: some may move you, some will leave you cold, and there may be one or two you want to forget as quickly as you can. ?
My definition of a slam poet? Just someone who gets up behind a mic and reads a poem (max length three minutes) to an audience and hopes they like it. That's it. ?
