Tudor House, Wigan, March 2008
Hi
There are some photos in Galleries from Tuesday's (25/3/08) event, "Orchestration of the Waves" and last night's open mic. Both events were held at the Tudor house.

My thanks to write out loud for a tenner!
I shall frame the cheque.
My first poetry cheque.
I had a fantastic time at this, the sixteenth WOL Wigan.
My thanks to all who read
What a superb range of poetry.
The great thing about the Wigan night is it has a cabaret edge to it that makes the event really fun. Its not like a library or a formal event where I find the atmosphere too serious at times.
Alright, you have to compete with the noise of the bar
but laaaaaaaaaaast night we did!!!!
I think that serious poetry has a place alongside the downright outrageous and that the downright outrageous is rather serious at times.
We need more nights like this one and less stuffy stuff.

Poetry is not serious

you need to mix it a bit
life is for living
books are for giving

Mel read a fantastic piece and switched to memory
the matador came forth

Hi Baz
good to see you there
and a result on the hairdressing!
Well played.
Does anyone else recall this night?
or is it the case that almost everyone who was there are those who rarely post on WOL!
Ill never understand it.
Wigan is in fashion.
