WOL at the Library
It was indeed a great night and Sophie's performance was one of the highlights for me - thanks for coming Sophie and everyone else of course.

PS I'm afraid Sophie is in b&w as her photo had the dreaded Red-Eye!

We thank you for your praise, Sophie. Few people appreciate just how much boring admin work goes into making a night work. But the payoff is always stunning.
To see so many new people step up and read for the first time ever is humbling. It is a testament to them and to us all: audience, reader, organiser. Proof, for me, that the elitism of much of the poetry establishment can be challenged. This is poetry for everyone. We all have the right and the capacity to write. Yes the right to write, right! Even we don't write right, it's all right, I say. Right?
We must not forget that this was Punam's idea. she arranged for us to use this great space, and she had the intelligence and the foresight to invite Write Out Loud to organise the night for her (OK that's enough self-congratulation. Ed).
I should add that Write Out loud is unusual among poetry organisations in arranging lifts for poets to go out other venues to support other nights and gigs. Thanks to Dave, too for the poetry bus... (OK, that really is enough. Ed.)

A great night (as usual)! I was really impressed with the sheer number of people who got up and performed for the first time, there was some really good as of yet undiscovered talent :) I was also reet chuffed to meet Sophie and see and hear her very funny words and energetic performance.
Big thanks to Punam and Julian for setting it all up and Paul for picking me up and not shouting at me for my terrible directions! :)

A great night.
Very sorry I missed the first 2 poets, hopefully I'll get a chance to come to this event again. The space is fantastic do we agree?
Very good acoustics, great for reading quiet poems.
I really enjoy this performance space as opposed to pubs, though pubs too have merits.
Hey some superb performances as usual and the first timers, wow they are always so brave. Lets hope we see them round again. Another write out loud victory, Julien and Paul well done on the compère scene.
Sophie how do you remember your lines so well, great performance!
A SUCCESS!
