Biography

Reading and writing poetry is my catharsis. I'm always looking to connect with other writers for support, and constructive and kind criticism. Two of my favorite poets are Langston Hughes and Gwendolyn Brooks.

Sample

In Solitude I enjoy my own company The world around me sleeps wile I breathe deeply Taking peace in its peacefulness A smile and a nod at the sound of a piano As long as no one is looking Reading my favorite passages out loud As long as no one is listening In Solitude I enjoy the company of another Without the distraction Of interaction Taking pleasure in her presence alone although her attention is elsewhere My fears rest Comfort takes over And in her presence in my solitude in our quiet I sleep And I dream Like clear moonlight emerging from the clouds reflecting off water revealing what was hidden Solitude illuminates Solitude betrays Solitude Lonliness In loneliness I smile and nod in the company of my friends yet I am misunderstood I register the questions from people who aren't looking for answers yet I answer them I shut out I shut down And the world sleeps while I strain to keep from screaming --- --Wake up
