Biography

I have been writing poetry since I was in high school. I love to write about various topics, mainly things I see in the world, experiences I have had, other people's experiences, pretty much anything that comes to mind. I am also working on compiling my first manuscript of poetry to have it published. I eventually would like to have some work published, as well as write a few books for children and adults.

The Mirror of Me I know there is a mirror of me that is reflective of the woman I want to be I know there is a mirror of me that is reflective of the person I strive to be I want to always look into the mirror and see things crystal clear My heart is the mirror revealing the truths that I hold dear In my heart and soul I know the mirror can never be perfected For the mirror is simply all of my human flaws reflected The fear, insecurity, strength and frailty I know I am sometimes guilty of letting the image in the mirror get the best of me I love the mirror for all the lessons it teaches I love the mirror for all the layers it reaches I know the image in the mirror will never let me be completely free As the mirror is truly a picture of my mind, body and soul, reflected back at me

Hello Aisha,

Welcome to Write Out Loud, we hope you have a good time exploring the site. We're really looking forward to reading some of your work and I know that you’ll get a warm welcome from the other WOL-ers too.

Thanks for uploading a picture of yourself, it’s really good to see what our fellow poets look like.

Have a good browse around, there’s work here on virtually any subject and there’s always lots going on. If you have the time to make some comments about the work of other poets please feel free to do so, it’s often the best way to get some constructive feedback about your own work too.

If you experience any technical problems there’s usually somebody who’ll help you out so just ask and someone will get back to you reasonably swiftly.

WOL is a friendly, creative and unassuming place, so welcome from all of us once again.

Graham @ the Write Out Loud Team.
