Biography
Born with a pint of joey holts bitter firmly in hand, Benny-Jo Zahl has been making a prat of himself in public for as long as he (or anyone else) cares to remember. Stumbling into the Manchester poetry scene he found a 2nd home and began to put directionless scribblings to good use. Several years later he finaly gets good at it. Blending the rhythms of his musical influences, surreal humour and a unique logic-devoid way of looking at the world around him Benny-jo Zahl is now one third of the Working Verse collective, whose debut poetry show is being staged by The Lowry on January 7th 2012. check me out on youtube!

I've been told poetry's the new rock n roll fuck that gimmie thrash metal full pints of aggression paragraphs of battle axe to hold your attention its no kung fu its a kick in the nuts and a well placed pool cue eloquence is irrelevant when nobody in the room knows what you meant so debunk myths with closed fists set sight and let rip a silver tongue is as valid as the arm that swings the pen, draw blood from the fountain grammatical rules are for flouting only epitaphs are set in stone and I pray mine is as witty as as witty as....... FUCK! roll dice at cross roads dead fish go with flows ship wrecks go untold tho the tend to fit a pattern this is paint by numbers with paintball guns keep yah finger on the trigger
