Biography
So Why Did I join? I am here to post some of my thoughts and creative works. I love writing, I love language, I love words. I would like to connect with others that have taken the time and have the courage to post their personal thoughts online. I believe that there are kindred spirits out there and I hope to find some through my passion for writing, reading and learning. I hope you will take the time to read some of my writing as I will definately be reading yours. I am open to reading requests and if you are more comfortable sending me a private message to ask something please feel free to do so. Vitals: Age: 30 Location: Port Elizabeth, South Africa Hobbies: Writing, Painting & Drawing, Reading, Gaming, Surfing, Dj-ing, Watching Documentaries and Movies (mostly Sci-Fi, but pretty much anything interesting), Watching Anime, Travelling (when I can). Music: I listen to anything that sounds like it was made with some balls and soul. Genre-wise I listen to Drum & Bass, Jungle, Dub, Metal, Djent, Punk, Ska, Alt Rock, Rapcore, Industrial. Books: I lean slightly towards Non-Fiction (anything dealing with Socio-Political/ Economic commentary; Psychology or Human Behaviour), If I'm reading Fiction I tend towards Fantasy novels, favourite authors of the genre are R.A Salvatore and Robert Jordan (because the Wheel of Time makes The Lord of the Rings look like a walk in the park on a lazy Sunday afternoon). Anything else you want to know? Just send me a message.

ODE TO A BLINKING CURSOR Oh blinking cursor, how you taunt me Begging for a poem, essay or short story Your constant demands for words to devour A simile or metaphor involving a flower Your rhythmic flash; a mocking tone And now my work I must postpone To satisfy your creative cravings Your desire for my digital pencil shavings Back foul beast, except your defeat On the battlefield of MS Word we shall meet A thrust and riposte; cursor vs. hand With spell check I make my final stand My grammar and spelling seal your fate The formatting perfect; it is too late My poem is finished, your blinking subsides Saved to the server, in memory it resides
