Biography
Now an early years pensioner, I am also a poet, writer, nature photographer and healer. My anti-fracking stance puts me in the category of a domestic terrorist (non violent). I was co-founder of the Ramsbottom Writers Circle (which now only exists online) and was the driving force behind 2015 Ramsbottom Literary and Arts Festival (www.rammylitfest.com) alongside David Hills. My first self published book, 'The Simple Path' can be bought from: http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/Elaine_Speakman
Samples
February Shoot - included in the 2015 'Live from Worktown' anthology. Five a.m. Five men Five guns Set to shoot Over seeded fields Frosted white. Five hours Five men Five guns Set to shoot From a hide camouflaged Stiff with cold Cooling soup in flasks Blackbird, robin, song thrush sing But the pigeons haven’t turned up. Five p.m. Five men Stiff with cold Five guns Uncocked Two crows and a magpie dead A passing fox has peed on the hide But the bloody pigeons didn’t turn up. Five a.m. Five men Five guns Set to shoot Same again next week (She thinks) The pigeons have got more sense.
