Biography
Eli Anderson has been writing for over thirty years, and has published four books with accomplished artists (poetry: Behind the Scenes and children’s picture book: Vircheu and the Bow). His passion and craft is as a Master storyteller & poet. He currently works in educational institutions, hospitals and colleges, running life changing, enhancing and fun storytelling experiences. Within the hospitals, he is working with vulnerable adults and children from two hospitals. Currently the adults are those recovering from serious brain injuries and amputations. The approach enables people irrespective of age to re-story their lives. Insofar as they are able to identify challenging narratives in their own lives and learn to actively change that narrative so that it forms an enriching way of “re-storying“ the traumatic events. In effect, “writing out the trauma”. Those adults and children, have been able to look more positively at their loss, whether it is physical, e.g. The loss of a limb, sight, or speech, etc, or mentally, e.g. loss of confidence, relationships, sense of purpose, etc. The powerful transformative changes that have taken place, have allowed people to come to terms with their loss and trauma. In addition, given permission for them to rebuild their lives and loves and to take an infinitely more confident and positive attitude to their lives and relationships. He believes that his passion, purpose and energy as a storyteller & poet, is to enable people and communities to reconnect and rediscover their beautiful and unique voices.
