Biography

I'm Elizabeth! I'm 25 years old, I live in Denver and I love to write poetry. I have published my own poetry book, "My Name is Elizabeth." I'm in the works of creating a new poetry book. I believe that it is so important for us to create and add value to this world and I think I can do this through writing. Stay tuned for more writing to come!

Sound of My Name

Smoke all around my mind. I hear you call my name or maybe you used to for now I hear a mere echo as to what you used to be and what you used to say. I flick once then twice on this lighter and move my hands back to my mouth for another puff. If I were to call your name, I’m sure you’d hear it loud and clear with crisp octaves and pronounced vowels. With no misrepresentation. I should call your name Or at least your phone. Or send an SMS. It’ll be delivered, but will it be received? How will I be perceived. My cigarette is out, and I should grab my lighter *Sparks* Your name is on my phone, and you are on my mind. Wanting to laugh with you so desperately, I feel like a child. The fire burns from the lighter and my fingers know the risk. I hope you do as well. Smoke is all around me, But you make it just a little clearer. and that’s what I’d say If I did decide to call you my dear. But for now I won’t talk to you or even talk at all. I’m going to sit right here And listen for your voice soft and small. An echo, the sound of my name. Such a sweet sound, the sweetest sound of all.
