Biography
I love to write, and am new to trying my hand at poetry. I especially struggle with how to format poetry, so any advice is welcome! I want my writing to take people on an inward journey to the soul. To it's depths and heights.
No Monsters Here
How do I create out of this place of destruction? Must I die to be reborn? Into the fire to be remade. This is the path I travel, this transformation, it plays a vital role in my living, and claims the dead by name. Two sides of the same coin, darkness and light, neither one better nor worse than the other. Each taking up space in this heart that breaks. Cradling each other, companions to the end. I must learn to see both without assumption or criticism to hold them each dear and lend a faithful ear to the pain and the sorrow. Transformation is violent, it takes a lot for the soul to travel to the places often ignored. The shadow it gathers in the cobwebbed corners of my mind. To face it or run from it, is the question that lies deep in the crevices of the divine. Turning toward it, I feel the rush of fear and excitement. What will I see, what will I become? There are no monsters here, we all are friends. I open my arms, welcome them in. Sit down, have a cup of tea, and tell me, my teachers, what have I to learn?
