Biography

A collection of poems by the grade six OIB class of 2018 at Lycee Jules verne in Johannesburg. Poetry by children for children and any other people whose childhood is still within reach.

Russia I Miss You By George Baring I think back to my life in Moscow, In my mind I see sparkling snow. I can smell the cold air, And the frost in my hair, And it all feels like so long ago. I think back to our wooden Dacha*, And my breakfast of delicious Plyshka*. I can smell the fumes of the old Zhiguli*. Oh, Russia I miss you truly, truly. But now, I love South Africa. * Dacha - Wooden house in the countryside * Plyushka - Delicious doughy bread covered in sugar * Zhiguli - small Russian car (the police often drove them)
