Re: Final draft [Draft] This message hasn't been sent. Saved on: Thu 20/12/2018 22:15 To: Tom Johnson (tom_johnson306@msn.com); Whilst on the creative journey, influenced by recent tragic events, my poem became a message from father to son Innocent babe, nurtured to bloom, is too soon a funeral wreath From mother's breast and father's knee, child to man, a trip so brief Leave behind your childhood, those friendships you still treasure Search for wisdom, love and pain, absorb them all in equal measure For within man's travels we seek contentment, plus an inner truth Both not revealed, in those confused years, of your troubled youth Oh Bird of Passage, let him drift, on skies of cobalt blue To seek adventure, desired by many, though found by oh so few Though oceans may stand between us, on their waves your dreams can flow Experiences of life that help build the man, allow his soul to grow Like the leaf detached, that floats far, from the mighty tree Travel my son, on Arctic and Sirocco winds and you shall find the key Pursue those dreams...Live, Love...reveal the beauty from within As whether rambler, nomad or drifter, the first step is where we all begin Deep within my ageing limbs is a love for you to see For son and fellow traveller...I am you...and you are me
