a Magnificent Mile with you
in the middle of Millennium Park when everyone is looking, I dive in the round waves of your hair that carries me through the city. when cars float down North LaSalle street, Chicago chatter hydroplanes into you and me reverberating our Night in Tunisia. as Water Tower Place collapse behind us, I taste golden debris scattered in your beard—salty and sweet like Garrett's. at the edge of the city, our first mile extends over the lake, and we make our way home across many thousands more magnificent miles.
