Biography

Intermittent poet since late adolescence - now 79 No ambition to be published, but enjoy sharing/performing my poems Once wrote a verse play. Studied classics to degree level. Became a social worker. Retired long time ago. Moved to Eastbourne in 2013 from Midlands. Could not find an open mic so I started one and acquired a stage name "Mister John" I have a habit of writing poems for occasions I am involved in personally e.g. birthdays, partings etc

The blustery wind is in the mood tonight Lifting skirts and squealing delight "It takes one to know one" he shrieks with glee "The world's my oyster I'm on the prowl and free If you're looking for fun just follow me In tightest alley on broadest plain Up tallest tower down deepest drain I'll seek them out and sweep them away We will sing and dance cavort sashay Tonight's the night all's open wide For those who dare who feel the wild This is the chance you've waited for I need no key to open the door I've blown it down just come on in And join my whirl now twirl and spin" "Ah blustering wind I'm in your thrall You've swept me up I cannot fall I'm high I'm keen I'm up for it No in between I'm hot and fit So take me now and every day I'm the flag on your mast and under your sway"
