Biography

I grew up in Cornwall, did a pointless degree in the Performance Arts and earn a living from corporate role-play. After years of bemoaning the lack of creativity in my life I finally came out as a writer and now fiercely protect time spent with my laptop. I live in Todmorden with a husband, 4 daughters and incontinent cat. I am a contibutor to a short story collection called 'Daddies' Girls' which we are currently touring literary festivals. daddiesgirls.wordpress.com This is my first attempt at poetry.

Samples

An easy life You make your bed Layer upon layer Sheets, blankets, duvets, mattresses, pillows; and the lives that get trapped in between – smothered. The princess balancing on top can feel them all. Poisonous, pinched and poised! A wild animal caught in a trap will chew its own leg off to be free; I’m snapping sinews between my teeth like dressmakers thread but what will I leave behind? Medusa The King of the sea has a thing for me, He wants me that is for sure. He watches me as I leave a room and keeps vigil by my door. His eyes are ever on me and he’s pleased by what he sees The king of the sea has a thing for me But he’ll bring me to my knees

Checking out your site to read more of your work, love your imagery... you should try rhyme a little, no?
