Darkness I was always the dark void, But along you came and brushed my skin with your glittering soul, You became my light, my only light Even a speck of kindness from you was enough To quieten the battle within me, To tame my demons, Soon, my existence depended on you, My day started when your eyes fluttered open, The dusk for me only came when you left, You colored me in with love and your pretty words, Made me forget I was ever an endless void, You made me discover the universe, Everything was perfect, Until that day came along, Oh! That dreadful day, My world stopped spinning, The sun didn’t rise for me the next day, You said goodbye with the intention of never seeing me again, In an instant, the lilac skies you showed me didn’t look as bright anymore, I wanted the rainbow to walk out with you, Because there was no end to the storm you started again, I was always the dark void, I never should have deemed myself worthy of anything else, But this time, the darkness was enough for me to engulf myself.
