Biography
My name is Katie, and I have been writing poetry since I was eleven years old (I am 20 now). Poetry, for me is an emotional outlet, where I have the capability of releasing any emotions stored within, effectively. I write primarily about social issues, but I also write about people, people who inspire me, and have in some capacity inspired me, throughout my poetical journey. I hope that, if what I write resonates with anybody, they find peace.

Held - Eyes of the brightest blue, A smile that could strike a wave A laugh that could haunt your dreams, And a smile like Summer rain Tender and warm her arms may be, With the strength to hold you tight But even the strongest of people, Need to be held at night Saved Me - Poetic structure’s my sanctuary From insanity I feel safe behind my bars of vulnerability Gratification can derive from one’s complexity, Just ask Ms Collins, as it’s known Her story had inspired me It’s been known that when I’m me, I can go slightly crazy Ask the eyes of disapproval From one’s I’ve seen out in my streets I hope I live on within my story I hope she lives on within my story ‘Cause I know she really saved me
