Biography

I am a writer and performer of poetry. My life as a performance poet started in Brixton, London. I write on all subjects, especially sex and women. My desire is always to say the words that others might find tricky or embarrassing. I hope that my words and performances leave people feeling entertained and empowered. I like to run events that encourage new poets to take the stage. I really get a buzz hearing the work produced by different types of people. Whatever their age, gender or background. I write daily and perform weekly. It keeps ideas fresh and flowing. It also gives me an opportunity to network and fun with other creatives. There is so much undiscovered poetic potential in each of us. So let's help one another to get it OUT!!

Menopausal Mayhem Menopausal mayhem Means changes are afoot There’s not much you can do When your hormones are Kaput! You can try your fancy diets Meditation and the rest But I find drinking alcohol Best soothes this type of stress On the days when I am sober I’m too aware of the passage of time But on the days when I am drunk All my wrinkle are smoothed by wine My joint pains and other irritations Seem to vanish without a care And my libido even makes a small comeback When usually I don’t know it’s there! Menopausal mayhem Plays hell with body and mind But the spirit within As long as it is gin Replenishes the youth left behind You may say I’m taking this lightly That HRT might bring me some cheer I’ve already tried that and I still felt flat I prefer a huge flagon of beer It’s true that some women never suffer From rages, hot sweats and the like Well to those lucky few I raise a glass to you And wish you’d swap places sometime I guess one day it’ll be over My menopause will be no more The mayhem will cease The symptoms decrease I’ll be normal like I was before But until that illustrious day When calm will replace the strife I’ll crack open the cava, knock back the lager Smile and get on with my life!
