Biography

Newly self-published Poet, I've written for most of my life but only recently come out of the Poetry closet. My book 'Still I Try' (available on Amazon :O)) is everything I've written up to early 2017. It is mainly about love and life, death and despair with a bit of humour thrown in.

First Love I saw him in the park Silhouetted by the sun, I knew his shape and form I knew his walk, his run. Separated by the years Of a broken love affair, He pretended not to notice I pretended not to care. Again I met this man This time upon a train, We talked a little while And said we’d met again. Later on I thought of how Calm we both had been. Considering we were once lovers And all the things we’d seen. We had been so very close And once ran away together. So why act like strangers now Talking politely of the weather? Times and people change But my first love will always be. It will live on in my heart A delicate and precious memory. Expect Candlelight The blaze rose just for them Flames like their bodies meet Passion inside, warmth outside Contorted by the heat. To avoid too much but get enough Of fire and of flame The path of least resistance Is trod with heat and pain. Lessons must be learnt From cradle to the grave The passion and the pleasure The burnt are the brave. Darkness becomes bizarre Cinders of hot sin Left over in cold ashes Only the flame can win. Expect candlelight and By a chain of time be bound Equals in the heat Equals in the ground.
