Biography
Pauline Fayne was born in Dublin 1n 1954. Her most recent collections of poetry are "Killer of fishes" and "I'm Fine Really" published by Stonebridge publications (Wales and Ireland).Her work has also been included in various anthologies , including "The White Page"- a directory of Twentieth century Irish women poets , published by Salmon Poetry and 'Rainbows and Stone',-an anthology of Irish Poets published by Real Ireland. Her work has been broadcast on RTE radio 1 and BBC radio 4 and she is one of the poets featured on podcasts.ie. She has given readings in many parts of Ireland and has has also read in Wales , Scotland, The Netherlands and the U.S.A.

'Necessity' Although for fifty years she has been as close to him as his very skin there are days when her cheap scent drives him to the attic room where light jigsaws through a dust-curtained window and the rocking chair, creaking in rythm with his bones, dulls the irritations of daily familiarity. 'First Night' In the beginning was the reception, the swell and lull of voices of relatives and friends in the Shang-Ri-La hotel, and the bands tinny playing as we stepped out for the first waltz I, miraculously unawkward in my wild satin dress and you, looking as if you were born to wear that hire suit awaiting the moment of escape to our secret destination yards away . A room with a view of the bay where we left the curtains open and watched the sun chase the moon along an orange sea path.
