Biography
In the late 70s my writing gradually became lyrics to songs and I found that gigging with a band inspired me to write more. After a gap of many years I began to write again about everything I saw in society, but with a keener and more inquisitive vision.
Freedom was the Passion.
... Did you really ever try to climb that pedestal of illusions they call fame? Did you ever plan to take things quite so far? Standing out there on the stage forgetting who you are Another town just passing through Another change in point of view Remember freedom was the passion we once knew. I remember well the days when the only reason you played was to take yourself away From the parts of life you could not understand You sang your songs of liberty and peace throughout the land But tell me where are they today? Please tell me what price have you paid? Remember those of us who watched you drift away. Your voice seeps through the radio I hear you very clear, I hear you, but what happened? What have they done to you? Where is the freedom and passion we once knew? You’re standing out there on the stage forgetting who you are. Another town just passing through Another change in point of view Remember freedom was the passion we once knew. I remember well the day when you finally made it back To your hometown. I watched a stranger reach out to the crowd. It seems to me you live a fantasy where no one else is allowed. Another town just passing through. Another change in point of view. Remember freedom was the passion we once knew. .....
