Poetry Crowd translation wiki project beta
Updated: Thu, 9 May 2013 01:05 pm
Information
This project aims to let anyone upload a poem for translation into any language, both text and audio (video eventually too). The idea is that translation will be done online by a group of volunteers willing and able to offer help in the translation. Each translation will need at least one or two people with skills in the original language and the target language, as well as others who might be able to offer commentary on the draft translation. It is very difficult to translate poetry into a language that is not your own, even if you are highly skilled in it, so we really need a mix of people. Those with skills in the target language and knowledge of poetry can suggest improvements to drafts. For now the group is closed to outsiders, so for members only as this is a beta, or pilot version of the wiki. Thank you to you for volunteering to help. Please add any comments or ideas you wish in the comments section.
