Arms Your arms span the length of falling, its measurements would stick As you unwound the tape years on, you were tall and outweighed The softness of flowers that you had crushed even then Their bed of earth one you could sink your grimy child fingers into As you unwound the tape years on, you were tall and outweighed The sea and your floating memory of its arms Its bed of sand one you could sink your grimy child fingers into You are farther from its depth than you imagine, and nearer too The sea and your floating memory of its arms Pursues you in a lane of blurry swimmers You are farther from the edge than you imagine, and nearer too Always chasing after a set of wings that were detachable Pursuing you in a lane of blurry swimmers Are the ghosts of butterflies pale blue and white Always chasing after a set of wings that were detachable You wore your dives like you wore your skin tight swim suits Are the ghosts of butterflies pale blue and white? are they sometimes perfectly purple? You wore your dives like you wore your skin tight swim suits Graceful falling towards a bottomless sky
