Dear God, I beg that you'd please save me From the snares that lie before me, From the sin the still enslaves me. The joy of salvation please restore, Let your righteousness reign once more And move in power as before. Please Lord. Dear God, don't let it overtake me, Though my life disappoints me And those I love forsake me. Thy strength must be indued My mind must daily be renewed To live and love and be like you. Please Lord. Dear God, my own designs fail me, My own decisions hurt me, And my despair assails me. So much sorrow and regret And my biggest heartbreak isn't yet. I must learn to forgive and forget. Please Lord. Dear God, problems surround me, My future puzzles me While punishment pounds me. I do not ask for a respite, But a renewed zeal to win this fight, Because she is ever in my sights. Please Lord.
