Biography
I went to a creative writing workshop ten years ago and since then have written as an amateur at home. I have had work published in competitions and charity publications, as well as my 'Samuel Crompton' poem used for an engraving on a Churchgate stone flag as part of the renovations several years ago.
Samples
Dreams What would I do without my sink, It’s where I often dream With hands covered in soapsuds, It’s where I plan and scheme I see my name on Broadway, Now that I’m a star Jetting off to Paris, For champagne and caviar I’ve left the sink behind me, I’m off to faraway lands But soon the dreams they fade away, Like the bubbles in my hand Then suddenly I hear a voice, To disturb my reverie In the distance it cries out, “Where’s that cup of tea?” Sheila Stephens Orrell
