Biography

I am retired now. I live in the Staffordshire Moorlands and I have two adult children and four grandchildren. I have always enjoyed writing and have written many poems and short stories over the years, but over time my writings have been lost or discarded. Since my retirement though i have been saving my work and now feel brave enough to put some of my poems out there to be read, and hopefully enjoyed by others,

The Post Trauma Session

"What do you consider to be, for you personally, a very important word?" The psychologist looked at her client, she repeated the question thinking that perhaps he had not heard. But the young man in the wheelchair looked straight at her and, without blinking he held her gaze for a second then "an" and again more emphatically "AN" "Anne?" She repeated to him with a somewhat bemused smile She was sure there was not one with that name in this young man's file. "Well now I didn't expect that Steven. I expected something like Love, happiness, compassion even" "Well so did I lady, so did I" was Stephen's somewhat cryptic reply "Do tell me all about Anne. I would like to know why Anne is so important to you" "Without "an" I would be not be anything at all, even less than i am now "an" is everything to me "an" is crucial to my identity, "Anne sounds very special, I would like you to tell me all about her. What do you say? "an is not someone's name, an is part of who I am. I am "an invalid". If you take an away what then? What do I become? Now do you see/ Can you see why "an" is everything to me?
