THE GENTLE HEART The softness of a rose Is what makes it beautiful. The softness of your heart Is what makes you human. Softness is the gift Bestowed upon a few. To feel the fluttering of The heart like a caged bird, To feel the wind caress you Like a loving mother. To run around the fields touching The grass below your feet. To see the light in this world And the beauty in its beat. It is like the bed of hay in a barren hut Waiting for its tired children To lay down and drift in peace. -Shruve
