Biography

Temi O'Sola. Temi lives in Newcastle Upon Tyne, GB. Temi started her writing in 2001. Asides being a poet, Temi is also a legal scholar and has studied the subject for over 7 years. She's also a phenomenal woman trying to find her heart's beat, one poem at a time (hence, her instagram name @findingtemio). You will most likely always find her locked in the kitchen cooking up a web of feelings, or in a picture of words, that seem to be a likeness of yourself. Most of Temi's poetry is non-fiction, and are reflective of experiences we all face as we move from one phase to another in life and one person to another in love. Showcasing the poet's creativity and deep understanding of societal issues, Temi writes on various themes including, courage, death, power, love, individuals in society etc. Temi had her first poetry performance in August 2020 at the famous North East Crossing the Tyne Festival in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Temi's poetry will inspire you with new found strength to express the emotions that you have kept tucked away for too long in your secret heart.

Alter Ego my alter ego comes out in my sleep she is the woman of my dreams she flutters her lashes like the wings of a butterfly she flips her hair back over her shoulders exposing unusual gold highlights flickering across her neck she walks, she dances out of her hiding place my alter ego appears in my sleep while people are asleep while people parade nightclubs my alter ego appears in my sleep staring into the mirror admiring the reflection of her new self my alter ego comes out on weekends while lovers walk down the aisle while bodies are being laid to rest my alter ego cannot but remember him painful memories from his confession and bitter memories from his lies which she had come face-to-face with my alter ego is as cold as ice she scans through men from head to toe searching for signs of vulnerability and grins wickedly at the thought of exploiting them she flirts, she lies, she traps, she cheats and full of deceit, she makes them lick her feet I wake up and my alter ego is still asleep she is tired of soothing my pain she is tired of massaging my ego she is tired of temporary appearances I look out the window I see his face in every man I feel a sting in my heart There is none to console me for my alter ego laying still pretends to be asleep but is not unbothered by my ordeals she is still there but if I must wake her up I must be ready to become like her. ***************************************************************************** To The Girl On Fire he said “please let me touch you I will do you no harm I see how bad you burn but I only need you to keep me warm” she kept looking but said nothing so, he came closer slept by her and by morning he’d become ashes this time she spoke “when you play with fire you get burned”, she said. ***************************************************************************** The Victim’s Lens the world would judge me the world would label me the world would not understand it’s easier for me to stay silent than it is to speak without no proof it’s easier for me to trust no one than it is to seek violation again if I speak there’s so much at stake I risk rejection I risk betrayal I risk isolation if I speak no one would believe so, I die in silence. ************************************************************************* Two Sides Of A Coin she had curious eyes looking to see into the business of others she had itchy ears eavesdropping on the private conversations of others she had a foul mouth making public the dirty linen of others not until she saw her father in the arms of his mistress and learned of their plan to make her mother, the mistress her eyes became blind her ears went deaf and her mouth lost for words.
