Biography
Hey, my name is Tom. I'm a twenty-something year old hoping to get somewhere by making stuff up for a living; specifically through writing and poetry. Some of my favourite writers include: Robert Frost, Gertrude Stein, Aldous Huxley, H.G Wells, Margaret Atwood, Catullus, George Orwell, Thomas Wyatt, T.S Eliot, Martin McDonagh, Thomas Harris, Jeff and Tim Buckley, Sylvia Plath, Kristin Hannah, Florence Welch, Seamus Heaney, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Bill Withers, Bob Dylan, Marcus Aurelius, Martin Luther King Jr. The list grows and shrinks depending on the day... Not going to lie, my stuff will be rough in places so if you see anything that could be improved please message me, I love criticism and if I'm going to improve I'll need other peoples' opinions. Be as harsh as you can, it's all love xxx

A 40-Watt Sonnet Sit up with closed eyes and the lamp on, reel the days back with lightbulb sunsets, plant your feet and turn time's dance down, then rise from the west and come back to bed. Don’t let the orbiting swirls of the chair remind you of our old days ahead. We've already been through those. In a roundabout way, we'll be there again. Arguing about the clouds, seeing gaslight shine from memory. Go on, let the chair spin out a tale about how we're happy in this room, or how there's no such thing as night, and then we'll sleep together, like switches in the lights.

You have some good pieces added so far. If you're looking for some pointers, the best I can say at this point is to never be afraid to add more adjectives into the mix. Sometimes all it takes is the right one. Welcome to Write Out Loud though and either way, you'll find your footing.
