A Well-Learned Scholar Wil Venitz To have spent one’s whole life for the pursuit of knowledge Is a cause most noble, and one overlooked. His father was a banker, with a life filled with education Raised from a farmhand to one of the most respected men His mother was a nursemaid, with wisdom and fulfillment Neglected as a child and found her way to the arms of a husband His sister, if he cared to know, was unemployed, poor, yet Faithful. His brother, the name long forgotten, worked in government, As a page maybe, or maybe a politician, himself. He didn’t know. He didn’t care for, what was at one point, his own family. He lived a comfortable life as an esquire. Years of his strenuous studying finally put to use. His father was the first to depart, as he was to meet the creator, That he wasn’t sure existed. The mother perished from pneumonia, dying peacefully in her bed. Later buried next to her husband. The esquire received his large inheritance from his father, He spent it all in one day for a large gold ring. He received mail stating his sister was killed and her home Was empty with all of her posessions gone. Next his brother was murdered in his sleep, the house was found empty. The following day he woke up in a daze, to an empty house, His mental health was in shambles, he was slowly running out of money. He lost his job, his house, his ring, his self. He lived and died as he was, Anonymous, the fate of the well-learned scholar.
