Sam's Lesson
The truth can be stranger than fiction,
When we create our own reality,
In which the lies we tell ourselves ring true.
Ring. Ring. Ring.
It’s the real world calling,
Ensure you answer fast,
You don’t want to get lost, you don’t want to feel that blast,
That comes when you see the last, shred of reality seep away,
Go on, give it a wave, you just told another lie.
Is it truly so important to create this extra persona,
What really is the difference between you and this Mona,
Is he Better, Stronger, Faster, Smarter,
No!
He is none, he doesn’t exist,
You really must try to resist,
This urge in your heart to make simple fabrications,
You need not make excuses no matter the occasion,
You cannot live up to a reality that isn’t reality.
Tell me again, would you tell a lie?
If I asked for test results,
Would you claim they are high?
Jack.
You can’t hope to become a person you created,
Even if there was a chance I wouldn’t be elated,
For this person in your mind, your perfect you,
He hasn’t done anything, let us review,
He never went to school, never learnt to walk,
You achieved that try not to gawk
My brother, my friend,
Don’t tell lies, there’s no need to pretend.
When everything you want, you can find in yourself.
