Sunshine-19
The sun is out but I have to stay in. A black pen and a white piece of paper await my creative side to begin. There is no noise here inside my house.
I sit still while the chaos continues outside. I lift the black pen and I start to write. My body is calm and these four walls have been my safe space.
I have heat, clean water and fresh food in this place. This place I call, my home. How lucky I am to be here.
Sitting on my chair, looking out the window. I watch the sun shine brightly on the houses on my street. They stand strong together, just like the people who live inside them.
The people inside those houses are probably doing the same as I am. Doing just fine.
I hope they also have a pen and some paper so they can write notes to read over later. Later, when the chaos has left us.. And we can go walk in the sunshine together again.
Maybe have coffee at Costas or some fudge cake at mine. For now though, I will sit and write a thoughtful message for someone I haven't seen in a while. When I'm finished I'll text them the message hoping it brings them a smile.

Yes Don, thank goodness for technology. It allows us to connect safely with loved ones.
