All We Left Were Birds
All We Left Were Birds
I heard the birdsong through the air
From far away and long ago
The sound of sparrow and of crow
And knew no human travelled there
They sat aloft without a care
No threat from humans down below
I heard the birdsong through the air
From far away and long ago
As time flew I became aware
Of how the seasons ebb and flow
When there are only dreams to sow
And nothing left to hurt or scare
I heard the birdsong through the air
From far away and long ago

thanks for the comments Martin - yes - walks have become more beautiful now that nature is not silenced by the roar of engines ?
