Tapestry
So many colours does my tapestry hold
The collation of many thoughts and dreams
Of visions given ages before and voices heard in the quietness of the night
Of victories won by faith and enemies subdued with words
The intertwining of destinies
The meeting of strangers that became family
Of smiles that were shared and dances that were danced
Of tears that flowed and laughter that echoed in the solace of empty rooms
The visualization of challenges past
Of mountains that crumbled and valleys raised
Of the resurrection of dry bones and bringing forth water from the rock
Of the opening of hearts and breaking of barriers
Of walking on waters and tested by fires
This is my story, this is my record
Of testimonies past and more still to come
Of the training that I endured and the bruises I have to show for it
Of the rains that hid my tears and the noise that drowned my cries
Of the offloading of unnecessary baggage
Of parting of ways with seasonal friends and welcoming of new faces
Though I cried, my tears produced joy
Though I screamed, my shouts brought forth victory
