Letting go
I loved you then, and only care for you now
Though now I must let go, so that I may grow
With gratitude I depart, for we are best apart
Our season has passed, our task no longer at hand
We say our goodbyes, walking our separate ways
Cordially we move on, with more still to come
For the many smiles that moved my heart
The many hugs that held me dear
Your soft embrace and gentle touch
I will keep you close, for you I can boast
The fleeting of thoughts, and passing of time
The healing of wounds and mending of hearts
Forgiving of actions, and living one’s life
All in the name of love, I now must move on
