To peer through stained white glass
The different reflections and refractions of light
The separation of colours that projects different perceptions
To have come this far, an accomplishment
Challenges overcome, victories celebrated
To have seen new lands, an adventure
Valleys raised, mountains crumbled
To have reached new heights
Weights removed, wings spread out

The multitude of words spoken and heard
The reality of present situations
Seeing with new eyes and perceptions
Loving with a renewed heart with different expectations
Cherishing moments passed including the humiliations

To have been shouted at and been heard
To have spoken and spread some hurt
The revealing of hidden thoughts untold
Caution was required but was not upheld
The tears that flowed because of misunderstanding
The laughter that proceeded after reasoning

To all of you that came into my life
For a season, to colour my track
Bringing a mosaic of things to impact my world
To you that made me laugh

Though for a season, you brought me joy

To you that embraced me well
The warm comfort amidst the storm
Though not here, appreciation given
To you that held my hand
At times you let go or squeezed it tight
For your company I am grateful
