SIghing With Swans

Spots of rain spatter the water now

This bench is hard but I dont care

It seems nothing matters any more

Now that you're no longer there

Sighing with swans,brooding with swans

White down and orange bills, all easy grace

Out on the lake they sail and swim

But unlike me they know their place

Last night you dropped me like a hot cake

Yet the day had started so bright

Though the sky has turned darker now

The swans exhibit nothing but white

Sighing with swans, brooding with swans,

White down and orange bills, all easy grace

Out on the lake they sail and swim

But unlike me they know their place

I overreached myself, you were beyond me

I should have known by the way you dressed

Wiser than us, the swan mates for life

While you were not one to be possessed

Don't cry you big baby, it's not seemly

LIke a bereaved swan I feel your loss extremely

Sighing with swans, brooding with swans

White down and orange bills, all easy grace

Out on the lake they sail and swim

But unlike me they know their place
