Neverland

Neverland

Peter Pan got sick of Neverland / turns out to be a land that never was / It was all in his head

Hero worship, pirates and treasure / Fool’s gold his therapist told him / perhaps it was all that pixie

dust he had been snorting / which way to go now? / the only X remaining marked his personal

conundrum /Wendy had left him / she’d found out about the affair with Tinkerbell in the office /

EVERYBODY KNEW / She’d posted it on Face-book and TikTok for good measure / no more lost boys

/ only a boy who was lost / the only map he could find kept leading him to the pub / to drown his

sorrows at the captain Hook inn / sitting alone in the corner / silently growing old / his head as shiny

as a ship’s deck / beard like sailing rope / his crocs anchored to the floor / shouting over to jolly

Roger behind the bar / to bring him another pint

◄ Damned love

In that year – Inspired by Kim Moore’s amazing poem of the same title ►
